LCI Terms and Conditions
LCI wishes to be fair in all its dealings with its students and clients. Please read the following conditions carefully before booking your course, accommodation or other service with us. If anything is unclear we will be delighted to answer any questions you may have.
- Age:
Students must be at least 18 years of age before their course at LCI begins.
- Class Numbers:
maximum number of students in a group class is 14.
- Fees:
Fees are payable in advance and are non refundable.
- Bank Charges:
Students must pay all bank charges due when paying fees to LCI by bank transfer. LCI must receive a copy of the bank transfer document.
- Tuition Fees:
Fees include tuition, placement test, internet acccess, welcome pack, student
information handbook, course certificate.
Fees do not include class textbooks (approx 30), examination fees,
insurance, bank charges
- Refunds:
Fees are non refundable after the course has started.
- Cancellation:
- For cancellation 14 days or more before arrival a cancellation fee of 60
will apply
- For cancellation less than 14 days before arrival a cancellation fee of 120
will apply.
- For cancellation after the start date fees are non refundable.
- Illness:
In the case of illness requiring medical attention, or other exceptional
circumstance the student may request that their course be postponed to
a later date. Medical certificate will be required.
- Attendance:
Teachers keep a daily record of attendance for each student. Students
requiring a report for visa purposes must request a report at least
seven days in advance. These reports will be sent directly to the visa
office.
- Public Holidays:
The school is closed on public holidays. No classes take place on
those days.
There is no reduction in fees when a course includes a public holiday and
classes are not replaced.
- Accommodation:
There is a registration fee of 60 for all accommodation booked through
LCI.
- Homestay:
Homestay is based on 7 nights.
Extra nights are charged at an extra night rate.
The minimum period of stay in a host family is one week.
Arrive Sunday, depart Sunday or arrive Saturday, depart Saturday.
Breakfast and evening meal Monday to Friday, breakfast, lunch and
evening meal Saturday & Sunday.
Average journey time by public transport is 40 minutes depending on
traffic.
Students wishing to leave their host family for alternative accommodation
must give at least 7 days notice.
Students must normally attend class while staying in a host family. A
request to stay in a host family while not attending class is subject to
availability and a special holdiay rate supplement will apply.
- Residence:
Residence is based on 7 nights.
Extra nights are charged at an extra night rate.
Single occupancy means one person per room. No overnight
guests allowed.
Twin occupancy means 2 persons per room. No overnight guests allowed.
- Holidays:
No allowance will be made for absence from class or accommodation
for occasional days.
Students studying for less than 16 weeks may not take a holiday during
their course at LCI.
- Change of dates:
No change of dates is normally permitted after a course has started.
- Disputes:
Disputes must first be brought to the attention of the school. LCI will
always seek to resolve disputes in a fair and ethical manner. Where, after
the LCI dispute procedure has been exhausted, a dispute has not been
resolved LCI will follow the Dispute Resolution Procedure of The
International Association of Language Centres (IALC).
